My Work.
Lines and Shapes
For the first assignment I took a variety of photos mainly staying far back from what I was taking pictures of. I shot all the photos straight on from where i was standing with the exception of the first and fifth picture that I shot of the ceiling or angled towards the ceiling. To make the pictures stand out, I adjusted the contest and brightness to create texture and heighten the shadows in the pictures. I tried to consider the law of thirds in my photos, for example with the first photo I had the window in the first third, the light in the second third and the rest of the tile in the last third. In my second to last photo the difference between the light colored vehicles, grey sky and the dark pavement and trees helps to lead the viewers eye to the work.
Texture and Pattern
For the photos i tried moving up close on to really capture the details such as the bubbles in the concrete on the first photo or I tried to create contrast between the different textures such as the second to last photo where I captured the difference between the fabric on the chair, the shingles, the shutter and the wavy glass on the table. I also tried getting the details on plants such as the petal details and the the patterns and repetitions of the leaves and petals I think that on the day that these were taken the lighting was good so the pictures came out good but many of them blame blurry when they were uploaded to Weebly. If I had to reshoot a photo I would do it on the yellow (that are white with the black and white) flowers and try to capture more detail on the flowers.
Powerlines and Playgrounds
For all of my photos I tried to have a big detail in a third such as the slide in the middle third or the power line in the middle third. I think the fourth picture really bring the viewers eye because of the roof part of the playground in the middle third with the details on the floor and bars and the overcast sky detail. The second picture and the fifth picture have a lot of detail and shape on the ground and in the trees as well as with the bars of the playground itself. I think that the first and fourth pictures really capture the assignment as a whole because the show the shapes, their details and the contrast from the environment around them.
